TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was welcomed at Sri Lankan capital Colombo on Tuesday.

The Iranian top diplomat also attended a meeting with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry at the venue of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka.

Amir-Abdollahian left for the South Asian country on Monday afternoon in response to an invitation by his Sri Lankan counterpart Ali Sabry.

During his stay in Colombo, the Iranian foreign minister will discuss the expansion of bilateral ties in political, economic, scientific, and technological fields.    

Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his official X account that he will also review political, economic, scientific, trade, and agricultural relations with Sri Lankan officials.
