TEHRAN, Jan. 30 (MNA) – The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister has toured the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, a major academic center in Uzbekistan with a special focus on historical and cultural commonalities between the two states.

While visiting the TDSHU, as the university is known by its Uzbek acronym, Bagheri Kani delivered a speech for students and academic staff in TDSHU’s Iran Room on Tuesday.

He said in the speech that Iran and Uzbekistan can devise a roadmap for boosting cooperation in various fields while relying on their joint cultural and historical background.

The diplomat was seen off from the university by two Uzbek students who recited Persian poems for him.
