TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says that the scope of war has become wider in Gaza.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in an interview held in New York on Tuesday local time with the American TV channel ABC News.

The foreign minister who was now in New York for the United Nations Security Council meeting on the Middle East situation including that of Gaza and Palestine told the American news channel that "the danger of having a wider war in the region has gone up."

Although the United States says it is worried about the growing tension, it supports the Zionist regime and widens “the scope of war,” Amir-Abdollahian stressed.

Instead of calling the sides of the war in Gaza to exercise restraint, the US should compel the Israeli regime to stop the war, he added.

"So the key to solve the problem is in Washington before it is in Tel Aviv," Amir-Abdollahian was quoted as saying.

About whether the former US president Donald Trump wins or loses the next presidential election, Amir-Abdollahian said individuals are not important, what is important is the behavior to be taken by the governments.
