TEHRAN, Jan. 06 (MNA) – The first branch of the University of Tehran is set to open in Iraq's Najaf based on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Iranian and Iraqi sides.

The University of Tehran's President Mohammad Moghimi has said that an MoU was signed between the University of Tehran and the international holding in Iraq to establish and expand the branches of the University of Tehran in the country, based on which the first branch of the University of Tehran in Iraq will be opened in the city of Najaf.

Moghimi made the remarks on the sidelines of signing this MoU, noting that the first branch of the University of Tehran will be opened in the city of Najaf, and other branches of this university will be established in different cities of Iraq.

He termed this movement as an important action in expanding scientific ties between the two countries. 

According to the contract, the Iraqi international holding will provide the physical space, support, and equipment, as well as administrative activities of the branch, and the University of Tehran will provide the scientific requirements of this branch.
