TEHRAN, Dec. 24 (MNA) – Senior Iranian and Russian foreign ministry officials have criticized the West for inaction in the face of the Zionist aggressions in the Gaza Strip.

Ali Asghar Khaji, a senior aide to the Iranian foreign minister, and Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister on the Middle East Peace Process Vladimir Safronkov met in Tehran on Sunday where they discussed the latest regional developments, especially what is going on in Gaza.

The two officials expressed deep concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and exchanged views on ways to put an end to the brutal Zionist regime, the establishment of a ceasefire, and the dispatch of supplies to the besieged war-stricken people.

They stressed that the US support for Tel Aviv, especially by vetoing anti-Zionist resolutions in the UN Security Council, is the root cause of these crimes.

They also urged the need for more enhanced cooperation between Tehran and Moscow on finding solutions to the disputes across the Middle East, including those in Libya, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine.
