TEHRAN, Dec. 10 (MNA) – The Iranian foreign minister has called on the European Union to take more effective steps to stop the Zionist Israeli regime's crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran has sent a letter to Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on Sunday.

In his letter, the top Iranian diplomat attached importance to the recent stance adopted by the European side regarding the necessity of a ceasefire and trying to make it durable stopping the killing of civilians in Gaza, observing international humanitarian law and focusing on sending urgently needed aid to the homeless people of Gaza.

He also welcomed Borrell's stance on declaring settlements as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and condemning the violence in the West Bank by the Zionist settlers.

In the letter, the European Union foreign policy chief was called upon to take more effective steps to permanently stop the occupying regime's attacks on the Gaza Strip, to completely lift the blockade and end the occupation, considering the continuation of the crimes of the Zionist regime.
