The signing ceremony of the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between Iran and Syria was held on Saturday morning in the presence of the Iranian first vice president Mohammad Mokhbar and Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous.
"The trip to Iran is done with two goals; First, we came to Iran to follow up KIon the results of MoUs and agreements signed during the visit of the President of Iran to Damascus," Arnous said in a joint press conference with Mokhber after the ceremony.
"The second purpose of the trip was to hold the 15th meeting of the Joint Economic Committee of Iran and Syria," the Syrian prime minister added.
"We will not forget Iran's support in the cruel war against the Syrian nation," he said elsewhere, adding that "As a representative of the Syrian Arab Republic, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the leadership and officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the people of Iran, who stood by our nation during the cruel war against our country."
Also in the joint press conference, the first vice president said that, " We had discussions about the crimes of Israel and the United States in Gaza, which are clear examples of war crimes and genocide."
"The free world should react to these crimes, but unfortunately the international community is silent," Mokhber said, adding that "Muslim countries should give a hand and stop these tragedies and bring the perpetrators and elements behind these crimes to justice," he added.

The Iranian first vice president named the agreement to establish regular shipping and develop transportation between Iran and Syria as one of the achievements of the talks with the Syrian prime minister and noted that with the signing of the free trade agreement document, the trade tariff between the two countries was downed to zero.
