Some 11 trucks carrying aid to Afghanistan entered the country from the Dogharoun border crossing in the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi on Monday.
He said that the consignment was the sixth cargo of Iranian aid to the quake-stricken people in Herat Province of Afghanistan.
The official added that the cargo included 250 metric tons of goods such as rice, edible oil, canned food, blankets, detergents, carpets, and health-care items.
Four powerful quakes in just over a week have killed more than 2,400 people in Afghanistan, according to the ruling Taliban governmentr.
They were among the world's deadliest earthquakes this year, after February’s tremors in Turkey and Syria.
The initial quake measuring 6.3 magnitudes and numerous aftershocks flattened whole villages and destroyed hundreds of mud-brick homes in Heart on October 7. UN officials said more than 90 percent of the victims were women and children.
The UN World Food Programme (WFP) said the back-to-back earthquakes have added to “a mountain of hardship” facing Afghans.
