TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev met with the Ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi.

The sides discussed the bilateral relations, processes taking place in the South Caucasus region, as well as peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

They also exchanged views on the Gaza war, as well as the role of Islamic countries in this regard, Azernews reported.

The 3+3 consultative platform, comprising the three South Caucasus countries of Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan plus Russia, Turkey, and Iran, was established in an attempt to settle regional issues without foreign interference.

The first 3+3 meeting was held in Moscow in December 2021 at the level of deputy foreign ministers and without the presence of Georgia.

The second was held in Tehran on earlier this month on October 23 with the participation of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, and Turkey.
