TEHRAN, Oct. 17 (MNA) – Iran's foreign minister considered the non-constructive policies of the US as an important factor in the continuance and expansion of the Gaza war.

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a phone conversation with European Union foreign policy official, Joseph Burrell, said that unfortunately, between 300 and 700 civilians are martyred in Gaza every day, and due to the blockade of Gaza and the closure of the humanitarian corridor, it is impossible to send medicine and food to the residents.

Amir-Abdollahian added that the Zionist regime's crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people continue while large-scale demonstrations in the world are being held to condemn the Zionist regime's actions and crimes against civilians, women, and children in Gaza.

Also, Josep Borrell, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in this telephone conversation said that the spread of tensions in the region is very dangerous and it is necessary for all parties to exercise self-restraint.

Borrell stated that the European Union continues its efforts to stop the war, stating that the European Union emphasizes the opening of the humanitarian corridor to help the civilians of Gaza.

Europe's top diplomat also emphasized the important role of Iran in reducing tensions in the region. He added that consular issues between Iran and the European Union need to be addressed.

Since Saturday, October 7, 2023, the Palestinian Resistance forces launched a comprehensive and unique operation named "Al-Aqsa Srom" from Gaza (southern Palestine) against the positions of the Israeli regime in the occupied territories.

The disastrous defeat of the Israeli regime has caused the leaders of this regime to repeatedly target the civilians and innocent people of Gaza in recent days and commit war crimes by besieging this city.
