TEHRAN, Nov. 8 (MNA) -- Forty-one works of international graphic designers about the father of Iranian graphic art, Morteza Momayyez, and 20 of his works are scheduled to be exhibited in the city of Echirolles in France on November 17 in the annual program “The Month of Graphic Design in Echirolles”.

 

The show will be sponsored by the Iranian graphic art magazine Neshan, which is currently holding the exhibition at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran.

 

“The idea to hold the exhibition was proposed by Alain Le Quernec (Momayyez’s French friend) when an exhibition was held in Momayyez’s honor in Tehran last August, and Neshan was assigned the task of preparing an exhibition for the Echirolles Iranian graphic designer Ebrahim Haqiqi is to deliver a lecture during the opening ceremony, which Momayyez’s family plans to attend.

 

Momayyez died of prostate cancer in Tehran on November 26, 2005. He was regarded as the father of graphic design in Iran and was the chairman of the board of directors of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society from 1988 to 2004.

 

He was honored by the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA) with a lifetime achievement award in April 2004.
