The production line, operated by defense industry experts, has a production capacity of 500 rollers per annum, which can be increased to 700, the defense minister said.
Based on an agreement signed with the Mobarakeh Steel Plant, IASC will produce 30 rollers for Mobarakeh per month by March 2007, and the figure will be increased to 50 rollers per month later, he explained.
He cited the projected €14 million in annual savings for the country as one of the advantages provided by the new roller production line.
Located in Iran’s central province of Isfahan, IASC is affiliated to the Defense Ministry and produces foundry and casting parts. The products are used in the steel, cement, oil, gas, dam-building, wind turbine, and auto-making industries. Besides meeting domestic needs, the complex exports up to 30,000 tons of its products per year to Asian and European countries.
