TEHRAN, Sep. 26 (MNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale has hit Maraveh Tappeh in Golestan-Turkmenistan common border on Saturday.

According to Iran’s Seismological Center affiliated to the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 09:16:52 hours local time (04:46 GMT) and at the depth of 10 km underground.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 55.98 degrees longitude and 38.09 degrees latitude.

Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the affected areas to assess the situation.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
