The one-week exhibition features 70 paintings and some parquetry work, Iranian ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Mohammadreza Saburi said during the opening ceremony, which was also attended by the ambassadors from Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Ukraine and several Kyrgyz officials.
The exhibition was organized by the Iranian Embassy and the Iranian cultural attaché in Bishkek, he added.
Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Tamara Ayazowa said she believes that the exhibition will play an important role in familiarizing Kyrgyz people with Iranian modern and traditional art.
Mohammad-Hossein Abedini, the cultural expert of the Iranian embassies in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, said that Iranian art has broken all barriers of place and time.
The exhibition was previously held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where it was warmly received, he added.
