TEHRAN, Jan. 23 (MNA) -– Mansuri No. 60 oil well drilling was successfully ended by applying Expandable Sand Screen (ESS) method for the first time in Iran’s oil industry, director of the plan Soltan Kamali told the Persian service of ISNA on Monday.

The Expandable Sand Screen (ESS) is a revolutionary technology of sand control method that allows previously unfeasible oil development plans in sandy regions to be realized. In case of the Mansuri, it is now expected to add 10,000 bpd to the country’s oil production capacity.

The operation owes its success to close cooperation and coordination of Oil Development and Engineering, Karun Oil and Gas Production, National Iranian Drilling, Pira Drilling and National Iranian South Oil companies with Kish EDCO, Weatherford and CNLC of China, Kamali said in conclusion.
