TEHRAN, Apr. 29 (MNA) – The 10th of Ordibehesht in Iran’s calendar, which usually falls on April 30, has been designated as the National Persian Gulf Day to highlight its historical identity. The date coincides with the anniversary of Abbas I of Persia's successful military campaign when the Portuguese navy was driven out of the Strait of Hormuz in 1622.
