Making the remarks on Saturday at the 2nd Speakers' Conference in Tehran, Volodin said that countries need to have a common understanding of terrorism, which requires a single list of terrorist groups as agreed upon by all.
He urged all countries to do everything possible to cut financial support to terrorism, noting that although terrorists have conceded consecutive defeats, they are still carrying out massive propaganda, especially via the internet.
He went on to say that with the help of countries such as Iran, the situation in Syria has significantly improved to the point that Syrian refugees can return home. However, Syrian citizens still suffer from some problems which need to be tackled with increased cooperation, he added.
He also highlighted that the United States is using terrorism as an instrument of pressure and direct intervention in the affairs of sovereign states.
