TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ghasemi said Sat. that the US has no right to "whine" about human rights violations in other countries and "cry" over global security with its own dark record.

In a statement on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi reacted to the recent remarks made by the spokesperson for the US Department of State about terrorism and human rights situation in Iran, saying that Iran has no high expectation from the officials of a country which ties the issues of human rights and human lives to trade transactions and the volume of dollars received from making deals.

He maintained that the US authorities are trying to promote a new model for defending human rights on the basis of the volume of arms deals made, adding “in this way, they give some ally regimes a leeway to commit crimes against humanity and massacre millions of innocent people in some countries in the region.”

The US, from its false and completely ignominious position, cannot and should not whine about and cry over the global security and the status of human rights in other countries, said Ghasemi.

The Iranian diplomat further noted that the US’ defense of human rights in exchange for dollars will only cause ridicule and an inversion of the term ‘human rights’.
