TEHRAN, Nov. 20 (MNA) – Mohammadreza Pourebrahimi, the Chairman of Iran's Parliament Economic Committee, says a think tank will be formed at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance to confront with the US sanctions.

According to the Iranian Parliament news service ICANA, Mohammadreza Pourebrahimi made the remarks after a meeting at the Parliament Economic Committee, attended by newly elected Economy Minister Farhad Dejpasand as well as senior directors of major Iranian banks.

Pourebrahimi also said that it was decided to establish a special anti-sanction management office at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance to monitor US-led actions regarding Iran's banking sector.

He went on to say that extending the scope of the banking system's authorities and reforming the structure of the banking system was another focus of today's meeting at the Economic Committee of the Parliament.

The Iranian parliamentary official further noted that part of the countermeasures against banking sanctions has to be remained confidential and the issue is going to be pursued only in the anti-sanctions office.

Banking issues in the next fiscal year budget bill was another issue discussed at today's meeting, he added.
