TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (MNA) – The Iranian foreign minister has tweeted that in the meeting with UK chief diplomat they had discussed issues of mutual interest, especially maintaining the JCPOA and Europe’s commitment to normalize economic relations with Iran.

The UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met on Monday in Tehran and conferred on bilateral ties as well as regional issues.

Hunt arrived in Tehran early in the morning for a one-day visit and held talks with his Iranian counterpart as well as the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani.

Zarif tweeted after the meeting that the two top diplomats “reviewed issues of mutual interest, especially maintaining the JCPOA and Europe’s commitment to normalize economic relations with Iran.”

The Iranian foreign minister added that they had “also discussed how to end the catastrophic war and humanitarian nightmare in Yemen.”
