TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (MNA) – Chief Executive of the National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) Mehran Amir-Moeini said that talks are underway with the Omani side on export of Iran's gas to Oman.

Constructive talks were held in this regard in the past few weeks, he said, adding that in an upcoming meeting with Omani officials, a document will be finalized which will determine the framework of cooperation and responsibilities of the two sides. He added that the document will serve as a tender which is expected to be held for the pipeline.

He went on to say that a foreign company has shown interest in participating in the gas pipeline project.

The capital needed for launching this project stands at between $600-$800 million, he said, adding that the implementation of the project requires about two years' time.
