TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said the enemies of Syria have entered a military war with the Arab country after their political pressures on the Syrian government came to no avail.

Larijani added that the enemies started the pressure on Syria several years ago since they imagined they would conquer the country in couple of days; however, their heinous plans did not have the results they expected, so, they entered a belligerent war against the country.

He made the remarks during a meeting with a Syrian parliamentary delegation in Tehran on Tuesday.

The senior official noted that although during the war, the Syrian government and people faced many challenges, and today they are tolerating some new hardships in the political arena, they will win this war, too.

Resistance has been the key to their previous victories, and it will help them overcome the new challenges too, he added.

Larijani expressed hope that the few terrorists remaining on the Syrian soil will be eliminated in near future and the reconstruction of the Arab country resumes as soon as possible.
