TEHRAN, Nov. 11 (MNA) – Iranian filmmaker Ghasideh Golmakani has joined the jury panel at the 60th Zinebi International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao in Spain.

Golmakani is one of the five juries to judge 55 films at the competition section of one of the oldest film festivals in Europe, Zinebi International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao in Spain.

The festival is an Academy Award and BAFTA Award qualifying event.

The 60th edition of the festival kicked off on Nov. 9 and will wrap up on Nov. 16.

Ghasideh Golmakani was born in Tehran, and moved to Paris at the age of 18 to follow her studies in 'art history' and 'cultural studies'. Her PhD studies subject at Sorbonne University is focused on “Influence of Iranian masters on young filmmakers.” Self-taught, Ghasideh had made documentaries and making-of for several movies such 'Today' and 'Daughter' (Reza Mirkarimi), 'A Special Day' (Homayoun As’adian) and 'Sara and Aida' (Maziar Miri).

Golmakani participated at the Spanish festival last year with her short film ‘Limbo’.
