TEHRAN, Nov. 03 (MNA) – Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Jalal Firouzinia said on Friday the new Lebanese government will open a new stage in Tehran-Beirut relations.

During a meeting with Suleiman Frangieh, leader of the Christian Al-Marada Movement in Banshee, northern Lebanon, Firouzinia pointed to the friendly and close ties between Iran, Frangieh and Al-Marada, and expressed hope that the initial familiarization meeting would lead to expansion of future relations.

Replying to a question about the US’s looming sanctions against the Islamic Republic, the Iranian ambassador said the US has taken a wrong path to withdraw from the landmark 2015 nuclear deal and is emphasizing on its stance.

The official stressed that experience has shown the US’s push to curb Iran’s presence in the international arena is a dream which will never come true.

Noting that the enemies have made every effort to isolate Iran and the Iranian nation since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Firouzinia said such measures will lead to nowhere, and expressed hope that the US would leave its wrong policies towards the regional countries.
