Iranian President Hassan Rouhani cabled a letter of appreciation to Ali Rabiei, the former Minister for Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, who was impeached and voted out by the Iranian Parliament on Wednesday.
In addition to acknowledging Rabiei’s services and efforts during his term of office, President Rouhani asserted that his administration expects to be still benefiting from the experiences and expertise of the sacked minister.
The impeachment session began on Wednesday morning and Ali Rabiei was forced to resign by 129 votes in favor, 111 against and 3 abstentions out of a total of 243 MPs who were present in the session.
The labor minister survived his previous impeachment attempt back in March held after facing charges of mismanaging unemployment and other government enterprises.
According to reports, the conservative faction in the Parliament which is comprised of conservative lawmakers have voted yes for the impeachment, while the reformist faction reportedly voted no.
