TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (MNA) – Iranian drama ‘Redhead’ directed by Karim Lakzadeh has been accepted into the competition section of 4th Festival International de Cine de Quito in Ecuador.

Following its successful appearance at the 4th Eurasia International Monthly Film Festival in Russia which won Lakzadeh the Best Director award, ‘Redhead’ will now take part at the 4th edition of Festival International de Cine de Quito hosted by Ecuador.

‘Redhead’ is the story of Farhad, with a family tragedy lurking around him and gaining atmospheric shape on the drive to their parents’ house as they learn their uncle has put a claim on the house despite their father’s will that has bequeathed it to his own children. An argument leads to more tragic incidents and soon cursed visions start to appear in Farhad’s life.

The International Film Festival of Quito, according to the event’s website, aims to promote auteur cinema to a new generation. The festival was founded in 2016 by the Film School of UDLA University in Quito. It's a festival mainly organized by students and their professors.

The fourth edition of the event will be held on 14-19 August 2018.
