Alavi made the remarks in an interview with a local news outlet in Zanjan province on Monday evening.
The intelligence minister said that one of the team members, whose brother had joined ISIL and had been killed in Syria, was trying to form a four-member cell to join the ISIL but they were discovered and arrested by intelligence forces before they could conduct any act of sabotage and terror.
Alavi further noted that the intelligence forces will continue to fight against corruption and illegal economic activities such as smuggling and tax evasion.
Over the past few days, Iran intelligence and security forces have dismantled three more terorist teams in the west and northwest of the country in Kermanshah and West Azerbaijan provinces.
