Iranian military official also met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan General Zubair Mahmood Hayat.
During the meeting with Pakistani top diplomat, Maj. Gen. Bagheri expressed his opinion on war on terrorism, expansion of border cooperation, and the ways to broaden bilateral relations.
Also in another meeting, Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi discussed the ways to exchange experience in staff training and to hold joint war games.
Maj. Gen. Bagheri and the accompanying entourage were welcomed by Iranian ambassador to Islamabad and a host of Pakistani military officials, upon arrival in Islamabad on Sunday afternoon.
This visit is in response to General Bajwa’s visit to Tehran back in November 2017, and the two sides are aiming to assess the implementation process of the agreement signed in Tehran.
Major General Mohammad Bagheri is also expected to discuss ways to increase bilateral cooperation in areas of military and security. Cooperation to increase security along the shared line of Iran-Pakistan borders is another issue to be discussed in meetings in Islamabad.
