TEHRAN, Jul. 14 (MNA) – Young Iranian practitioners bagged 4 more medals, including the first gold, on the second day of their participation in World Junior Wushu Championships, held in Brasilia.

Junior wushu athletes snatched one gold, one silver and 2 bronze medals in different forms of Taolu.

Sogand Golshani collected 9.11 points in the 15-18 age group of girls’ Gunshu form and picked up the first gold medal of Iran in the competition. Athletes from Indonesia and Belarus stood in next rankings.

In the 12-15 age group of girls’ Nanquan form, Nazanin Bazdar managed to score 9.10 points and grabbed the silver medal. Practitioners from Hong Kong and Indonesia gained the gold and bronze medals respectively.

Mehdi Khani grabbed bronze in 12-15 age group of boys’ Nanquan form. Malaysian athlete took the gold medal home while the silver went to South Korea.

The next Bronze medal was collected by Mohammad Ali Mojiri in 15-18 age group of boys’ Nanquan form. Practitioners from Hong Kong and Singapore stood at first and second place respectively.

In Sanda category, Yasin Shahraki, Mohammad Madi Reazie, Ebrahim Aslani, Shoja Panahi, Mohammad Farhadi, Hamid Kianian and Ayda Heidari defeated their rivals and advanced to the next round.

Iranian wushu athletes had gained one bronze and three silver medals on the first day of their competitions.

The competition kicked off on July 9 and will go through July 16 in Brasilia, Brazil.
