TEHRAN, Jul. 11 (MNA) – Iran’s Ministry of Health official has announced that knowledge-based companies produce 4,000 types of medicine, of which 73 are exported.

According the Public Relations Department of Iran Health Ministry, Deputy Minister Dr. Reza Malekzadeh said there are about 3,500 knowledge-based companies in Iran, of which 1,200 are operating in the health sector.

Dr. Malekzadeh said that about 4,000 products are produced by knowledge-based enterprises, of which 73 are exported to other countries.

He expressed hope that knowledge-based companies will meet the country's needs for medicine and medical equipment, while at the same time provide the ground for university graduates’ employment in these companies.

He stressed the need for helping the knowledge-based companies to find appropriate markets for their products.
