TEHRAN, Jul. 10 (MNA) – Kamal Kharrazi, the Head of Foreign Policy Strategic Council, reiterated Iran’s call on the European countries to take practical steps in securing Iran’s interests in the JCPOA.

Kharrazi made the remarks in a meeting with German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office Niels Annen in the Iranian Embassy complex in German capital Berlin on Tuesday.

At the meeting the two officials discussed the developments in the region as well as issues of mutual interest, including latest developments in Syria and Yemen, and issues relating to Iran nuclear deal.

Kamal Kharrazi said in the meeting that America's goal is to create tensions and conflicts in the region, while the US actions could have implications for Europe.

Kharrazi added Europe's support for the JCPOA not only serves the important international agreement but also contributes to the regional security.

The Iranian official further said that if Europe gives in to US pressures, it will go under more pressures in the future.

Kharrazi said that what matters for Iran is turning EU’s political will into action in order for Iran’s interests to be secured.

He stressed that Iran’s benefits in the JCPOA must be secured, otherwise Iran will see no point in staying the deal.

Kharrazi further noted Iran has the right to suspend implementing its obligations in the deal partly or fully, adding that Iran has given Europe time "to translate its will into action."

Niels Annen expressed his appreciation for the rational position of the Islamic Republic of Iran after the US withdrawal from the JCPOA, saying "European countries are determined to support the agreement despite facing problems.”

Annen said that two issues of Iran's oil sales and the transfer of money and investment of small and medium enterprises in Iran are EU’s priorities, expressing his happiness with the fact that EU’s actions in support of the JCPOA are in accordance with the Security Council resolutions.

The German official further said that all countries need to cooperate in supporting the Iran nuclear deal, calling on countries that buy Iran’s oil to continue to work with Iran.
