TEHRAN, Jul. 01 (MNA) – Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade reported that 18.8 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at $7.7 billion, were exported from the country in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year in 1397 (March 21-May 21), showing a considerable 4.8 and 21.9 percent growth in terms of weight and value respectively as compared to the last year’s corresponding period.

In its latest session, the Cabinet of Ministers, as headed by President Rouhani, reviewed a comprehensive report of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade with regard to the indicators and highlight of measures taken by the ministry in the first two months of the current year.

The facilities paid by banks, finance and credit institutions in the first two months of the current year (March 21-May 21) to the industrial and mineral sectors hit more than 210,000 billion rials, showing a significant 13 percent increase as compared to the same period of last year.

In the same period, 153, 61 and 77 exploratory, discovery and operation licenses have been exported by the ministry respectively, showing a significant 8.5 percent growth as compared to the same period of last year.

The aforementioned report also indicates that Iran has stood at a higher rank in the field of infrastructure in terms of quality of power supply and air cargo transport both in regional and international levels.

The respected government urged the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament) to prioritize the procedure of studying bylaw of country’s unexpected disasters management due to the incidence of various and unpleasant unexpected events such as outbreak of earthquake in the provinces of Kermanshah, Kerman and Bushehr.
