Iran has 95% self-sufficiency in the production of agricultural equipment and machinery, he said, adding, “US possible withdrawal from nuclear deal will have no effect on the development and investment trend of this lucrative industry.”
He went on to say that US possible pullout from Iran’s nuclear deal dubbed ‘JCPOA’ will also have not any effect on the entrance of technical knowledge and raw materials of heavy agricultural machinery, adding, “Iran enjoys high capability and potential in the field of manufacturing agricultural and irrigational equipment inside the country.”
He put the number of companies producing agricultural and irrigational equipment in the country at more than 300 in a way that almost 250 suppliers of agricultural and irrigational equipment are active in the country.
A landmark nuclear deal was inked between Iran and 5+1 Group (the five permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany) in Austrian capital Vienna in mid-July 2015, he emphasized.
After sanctions relief, bright and rosy future was opened for the Islamic Republic of Iran in international level, based on which, Iran managed to conclude separate agreements with the countries including Japan, South Korea and India, within the framework of joint venture contract.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that more than 55,000 billion rials worth of investment was made in indigenization of agricultural and irrigational machinery, he said, adding, “huge investment made in this sector led to the self-sufficiency of the country in this respect.”
In conclusion, Head of Mechanization Development Center of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad Kambiz Abbasi added, “we are seeking transfer of technical knowhow and knowledge from reliable countries within the framework of international rules and regulations.”
