In his message, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated President Cyril Ramaphosa and the people of South Africa as they celebrated the 24th anniversary of their first post-apartheid elections on April 27.
President Rouhani stressed strong support for mutual efforts between the two sides for further development of relations in various political, economic and cultural fields as guided by the strong political wills of the leaders of the two countries.
He also prayed for the president’s continued health and success, as well as the nation’s felicity and prosperity.
Freedom Day is a public holiday in South Africa celebrated on 27 April. It celebrates freedom and commemorates the first post-apartheid elections held on that day in 1994.
