TEHRAN, Apr. 29 (MNA) – According to Iran’s ambassador to Germany, three Iranian banks including Khavarmianeh, Saman, and Sina are planning to open branches in different German cities to increase Iran’s trade relations with Europeans.

Iran’s ambassador to Germany Ali Majedi who has returned to Iran to attend “6th Iran-Europe Banking and Business Forum” said that Khavarmianeh Bank has planned to open a branch in German city of Hamburg, and Saman Bank in Frankfort, while Sina Bank has not decided where to open its branch.

Majedi added that after the implementation of the nuclear deal known as the JCPOA, and before the Iranian private banks plan to open their branches in Europe, Bank Melli Iran branch in Hamburg and Bank Sepah branch in Frankfurt along with Iran-Europe bank have played a major role in carrying out monetary transactions between Iran and Europe.

He said that trade relations between Iran and Germany last year stood at $ 3.4 billion, adding that during the first two months of this year, we have seen a 12.5% growth in trade relations between the two countries.

Also on the sidelines of the second day of the aforementioned event in Tehran, German Ambassador to Iran Michael Klor-Berchtold said today that after the JCPOA came into force, trade relations between Iran and Europe has increased 10 times.

The German ambassador said that if Iran fully rejoins the world economy and if its place in Financial Action Task Force (FATF) improves, it will benefit from the JCPOA much more.

He stressed that Germany takes the JCPOA seriously and will remain committed to it in order to play a more active and constructive role in the future Iran-EU relations.
