Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a message to his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev extended his greetings and felicitations to the government and people of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the advent of the 26th Anniversary of their Independence Day on December 16, 2017.
The President also expressed hope that the relations between Tehran and Astana would further improve in the light of the will and determination of both countries' officials and in line with expanding mutual interests.
President Rouhani then wished excellent health and prosperity for President Nazarbayev, and success and happiness for people of Kazakhstan.
In 1991, Kazakhstan declared its independence from the Soviet Union. On October 25, 1990, Kazakhstan drafted a Declaration of Independence, which eventually led the Kazakh people to create their own Constitution. The country declared independence on December 16, 1991.

Your Excellency Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev,
Honorable President of Kazakhstan,
I sincerely congratulate Your Excellency and the people of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the country's independence.
Fortunately, in the past years, our relations have grown and deepened in the interest of our common interests. The Islamic Republic of Iran views Kazakhstan as a reliable neighbor and partner to consult and cooperate for consolidating regional stability and security and solidarity. I am confident that, based on the valuable experiences of the past, bilateral relations between the two countries will continue to deepen.
I pray to the Almighty for Your Excellency's health and success and the brother and friend nation of Kazakhstan's prosperity and well-being.
