TEHRAN, Dec. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s FM Zarif and Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met in Tehran on Sunday and called for expansion of bilateral relations between the two sides.

During the meeting held in Tehran on Sunday, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Vasif Talibov expressed his satisfaction with the increase of relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, and with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in particular, adding “we are ready to expand cooperation with Iran in fields of energy, tourism and transport.”

The Iranian diplomat, Mohammad Javad Zarif, for his part, said people of Iran and Azerbaijan feel at home in each other’s country, and voiced Iran’s keen interest in developing and facilitating relations with the neighboring country.

He also expressed Iran’s readiness to boost cooperation with the other side in various fields including railways, road construction, infrastructure projects, agriculture, joint ventures, customs facilitation and electricity generation.
