TEHRAN, Dec. 10 (MNA) – After delivering his administration’s budget bill to the speaker of the parliament, Rouhani hoped that next year’s budget bill will fulfill the promises he had made during his presidential campaign including reducing unemployment rate, increasing economic growth, and reducing poverty.

Pointing out that the budget bill for next Iranian fiscal year is different from the past, Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani said “the budget is not just a list of income and expenses, but it is the government's plan for the next four years.”

“I would like to tell the Iranian nation and their representatives here in the parliament that all the promises we made in the May 2017 elections are dealt with, and I would like to announce that the Iranian year 1397 budget represents the beginning of the twelfth government’s plans.”

“All the promises made by the government to the people regarding employment, economic growth, poverty reduction, reduction of inequality, and mobility in key projects and the presence of the private sector in the economy, are well seen in the bill,” the president noted.

“The main element of this year's budget is transparency, and the payment of credits to the administrative apparatus is based on their three-month performances,” Rouhani stressed.

Referring to the increased powers of the provinces in the next year's budget bill, Rouhani said that “the next year, 24 percent of the expense budget and 30 percent of the construction budget will be allocated to the provinces to govern themselves, and the MPs in their provinces can better manage the work of governors and the government decision makers.”
