After a meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Hungary’s Minister for National Economy Mihaly Varga declared that his country is willing to increase its oil purchases from Iran in the future.
The Hungarian MOL Company bought one million barrels of oil from Iran following the nuclear deal implementation.
Varga pointed to the issues discussed by the two sides in the meeting and said that “the banking and financial relations between Iran and Hungary were discussed and we decided to strengthen our financial ties and try to remove obstacles on the way of investors.”
Hungary’s Varga added that “a delegation from the Hungarian banks traveled to Iran last week and had very useful talks with Iranian parties, while I did not see any barriers in front of returning the previous banking cooperation.”
