Iran’s first Vice-President Es’hagh Jahangiri made the remarks on the sidelines of the fourth Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Bolivia in separate meetings with presidents of Venezuela, Bolivia, and Equatorial Guinea as well as foreign minister of Libya.
During the meetings with senior officials of the African and South American countries, Jahangiri highlighted the significance of ‘multilateral’ cooperation as an effective mechanism against the US hostile policies.
He also voiced Iran’s readiness to share experiences and knowledge in the fields of technology, nanotechnology, industry, science, and energy with the aforementioned countries.
The foreign sides, for their parts, called for development of relations with Iran in various fields of mutual interest.
The Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro, during his meeting with Jahangiri, said the US policies in exerting pressure against his country have failed to achieve their desired results, and went on to thank the Islamic Republic of Iran for its efforts in establishing peace and stability in the region and its unwavering support to Venezuela.
The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, expressed his gratitude to Iran for its support of his country’s hosting of the fifth GECF meeting in 2018.
