TEHRAN, Nov. 05 (MNA) – Armenia is planning to open Iranian studies and halal tourism centers in Syunik province in the near future, governor of the southernmost province of Armenia said Sunday.

Vahe Hakobyan, governor of Syunik province, made the remark in a meeting with CEO of Aras Free Zone Organization on Sunday, saying that his country welcomes any proposals and initiatives that would increase the level of interaction between the two nations.

He went on to add, “we are also planning to establish a free trade zone in Meghri near the border with Iran, which can boost the areas for cooperation between the two sides.”

“Establishing an Iranian studies center and centers for halal tourism in Syunik province are also on our agenda,” he added.

Hakobyan further announced plans for setting up an office for joint cooperation in Syunik before the end of the year.
