In a letter of congratulations that President Hassan Rouhani forwarded to his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, the Iranian top administrator voiced hope for expansion of ties, in addition to offering greetings over the anniversary of the Republic Day of Turkey.

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Passionate,
Dear Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,
The Honorable President of Turkey,
I offer my sincerest congratulations over the 94th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey to your highness and to the Muslim people of that country.
Friendly relations between the two countries are based on good neighborliness, old historical bonds, and deep religious and cultural commonalities between the people of the two countries. In such a context, close cooperation have been formed at different bilateral, regional, and international levels based on strategic mutual interests, close stances with shared expediency of the nations of the region and the Islamic world, and reliant on pro-independence spirit of the two nations.
I am deeply assured that under the auspicious of the resolute determination of the ranking officials of the two countries and with shared understanding about the regional and global developments, the growing trend of bilateral cooperation thrive in all aspects.
I pray the God almighty for the health and success of your highness and dignity and pride of the people of Turkey.
