Pointing to Washington’s efforts to disrupt Iran’s economic situation, Larijani stated “the economy should be our first priority, therefore every page we turn should remind us that our main concern is economy not political issues.”
The head of legislation branch urged the media to prioritize economy and added “the Parliament has underlined economy, so the media, especially national media ought to do the same and give voice to young and smart entrepreneurs. This could invigorate the country’s economy.”
He went on to say that economy, entrepreneurship and production are three important concerns that must be addressed regardless of the party to which one belongs. Industry and media are interrelated; if the industry does not flourish, the media won’t receive advertisements. The media is obliged to question the parliament on economic affairs and expect the government to be responsive with regard to economic measures.
