TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – Senegal’s ambassador to Tehran called for a strategic plan for economic cooperation between Iran and Africa and expansion of bilateral economic ties.

Senegal Ambassador to Iran Babacar Ba made the remarks during the economic and investment assembly of Iran and Africa adding that “Iran could further develop its economic relations with Africa in various areas particularly Petroleum, Gas, healthcare, drugs and treatment, and technological aids.”

The Senegal diplomat stated stressed that a proper cooperation strategy must be devised to realize these goal.

Pointing to the inclination of other countries like Turkey, China, and India to interact with Africa, he expressed the interest of his country to have closer ties with Iran.

Babacar mentioned the fact that sanctions against Iran, created obstacles in the way of economic transactions, adding that “but today, the African Union consisting of more than 20 countries is ready to develop inclusive economic cooperation with Iran.”
