TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (MNA) – Iran and Uganda business forum opened this morning in the presence of Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Ugandan counterpart in Kampala.

Speaking at the Forum, Zarif stated “since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we have held Africa in high regard. Africa is one of our priorities when it comes to economic cooperation.”

Zarif went on to add that Iran and Uganda’s interactions are deep-rooted and expressed interest in enhancing economic ties with the East African country in various areas of mutual interest.

Iranian minister further noted that his accompanying politico-economic delegation comprises the heads of the most important business corporations, representatives of major production and agriculture companies, research institutes, banks, economic foundations, shipping lines and automotive industries who are willing to work with their Ugandan counterparts in various joint projects.

Zarif has traveled to Uganda as the second leg of his three-nation African tour following his visit to South Africa. He will leave Uganda for Niger to conclude his tour.
