TEHRAN, Oct. 24 (MNA) – As the second leg of his three-nation African tour, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has departed for Uganda in East Africa.

Zarif concluded his South African visit on Tuesday after taking part in a joint business forum, the 13th Iran-South Africa Joint Commission’s meeting, and a meeting with South African President Jacob Zuma.

Heading a politico-economic delegation, the Iranian diplomat is now on his way to Uganda’s capital, Kampala, where he is scheduled to hold talks with the East African country’s president and foreign minister on expansion of economic and political relations between the two counties.

During the visit, Zarif will also attend the inauguration ceremony of a 50-bed hospital that has been constructed in Kampala by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Taking part in trade and economic meetings is also on the agenda of Mr. Zarif and his accompanying delegation.

Zarif will then leave Uganda for Niger as the last destination of his African tour.
