TEHRAN, Oct. 12 (MNA) – Iran’s UN envoy Gholamali Khoshroo said US withdrawal from JCPOA indicates the country's global discredit.

The United States is only one of the parties to Iran's nuclear agreement with 5+1; if it fails to remain committed to the landmark deal, neither Iran nor any other country will trust it, Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations Gholamali Khoshroo said in an interview with CNN on Wednesday.

Recalling Iran's commitment to fulfilling its obligations, he said the US is only one side of the agreement that has been set up between the 5+1 and Iran. "All countries except the United States have confirmed Iran is fulfilling its obligations. The country wants to get out of the deal. this is the truth."

Khoshroo, arguing that the United States could not be a player and the referee at the same time, said UN must act for judgment.

He stressed that Iran has its own democracy, but the problem is that the United States and its allies do not want to see a democratic Iran, and Trump's government, on the other hand, sells weapons to those who are neither democratic nor peaceful.

The US government created a lot of chaos in our region, the result of which are just destruction, instability and the loss of security, Khoshroo noted.

He asserted that Trump had promised the Americans not to take any action in the region, which would be catastrophic and costly, and we hope that he keeps his promise and does not interfere in the domestic affairs of our region.

Under the US Congressional Act, Donald Trump should provide a credible report by October 15 on Iran's commitment to JCPOA. Trump's repeated remarks indicate that he wants to refrain from confirming Tehran's adherence to the landmark deal, despite IAEA's eight reports confirming the issue. In this case, the US Congress will have 60 days to decide on sanctions removed based on JCPOA agreement and endorsed by the Resolution of UN Security Council.
