TEHRAN, Oct. 05 (MNA) – Senior MP Boroujerdi in a Thu. meeting with President Bashar Assad voiced Iran’s readiness to help Syria’s reconstruction after the defeat of ISIL terrorists in the war-ravaged country.

Head of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi held a meeting with Syria’s President Bashar Assad on Thursday in Damascus, during which he underscored Iran’s industrial and economic capabilities, and voiced the Islamic Republic’s readiness to employ such capacities to help Syria with reconstruction after the war.

“The resolve and resistance of Syrian nation and government have thwarted the plots hatched by the US, Israeli regime and their regional allies,” he added, stressing that the Syrian nation’s resistance will go down in history.

Boroujerdi then referred to the recent letter penned by President Assad and addressed to Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei, saying the letter indicates the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries and the positive role of Iran in Syria’s recent victories in the fight against terrorism.

“The Resistance Front is faced with common enemies in the region which has necessitated continuous and regular coordination among member states,” Boroujerdi said.

The Irnaian senior MP also held talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem Syria’s newly-appointed Speaker of the People's Council of Syria, Hammouda Sabbagh, and governor of Aleppo during his visit.
