TEHRAN, Sep. 27 (MNA) – A high ranking delegation from Iraq’s armed forces headed to Iran on Wednesday to coordinate military efforts, according to a statement from the Iraqi military.

The delegation is headed by Iraqi Army Chief of Staff Othman al-Ghanemi.

The statement did not give any details about the aim of the visit, but Iraqi medias believe the illegal Iraqi Kurdistan's independence referendum is on the top agenda.

Iran and Turkey also oppose any move toward Kurdish secession. Iraq and Turkey have also held joint military drills.

A high-level Turkish military delegation headed by Chief of the General Staff, General Hulusi Akar, also will visit Tehran next week, the Iranian armed forces announced today.
