TEHRAN, Sept. 3 (MNA) — The first batch of domestically manufactured automated teller machines (ATM) have been installed in a number of the banks in Tehran and are now fully operational.

“Few months after producing the machine, we finally succeeded in obtaining the consent of the Bank of Industry and Mine to introduce them to the end-users in a handful of pilot projects,” noted Ali Ashuri, the project manager in charge of manufacturing the ATM.

About 56 percent of the parts used in the Iranian-made machines are manufactured inside the country and we are planning to increase the figure to 75 percent by the end of the current year (Iranian year ends March 20, 2006), he further explained.
